Former New Orleans mayor, Frisco resident Ray Nagin indicted on 21 federal counts in Louisiana
New
Former New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin, who was indicted today on 21 federal
counts including bribery, money laundering and conspiracy, lives in Frisco these
days.
He and his wife purchased a townhome in the Bella Casa neighborhood just off
the Dallas North Tollway a few years ago.
The
federal indictment, issued by a grand jury in the Eastern District of
Louisiana, alleges crimes occurred while Nagin held office in New Orleans. He
was mayor from 2002 to 2010. The indictment makes multiple references to Stone
Age LLC, his family’s granite business in New Orleans that closed in 2009. There
is no mention in the indictment of Basics Natural Stone, the Frisco company that
the Nagin family incorporated last year with the Texas secretary of state’s
office, according to this
story last year from NOLO.com.
